Giving Advice away for Free Is Easy

It’s so easy, in fact, it’s like falling off a log.  Not that you’ve probably ever done that, of course – fallen off a log that is.

But I can guarantee that you have given advice away for free on many occasions, without even realising it.

Giving advice away for free is fine, if you’re doing it consciously, i.e. you know you’re doing it; it’s not just willy-nilly. Isn’t that a lovely phrase?

So, it’s the not appreciating that you’re giving it away for free that’s the real problem.

For example, a client or a prospect asks you a question and you just answer.  You do not consider its value.

It falls off your tongue so effortlessly.

It feels great.  You like helping people.  You may even feel important.  You think it’s good for your self-worth.

It’s not really and it’s definitely not good for your pocket.

It’s just a habit and habits can change, though it’s not easy changing habits on your own.

What’s it costing you or if you run a team, the business for that matter?
